ALTER G Anti-Gravity Treadmill

Originally conceived by Dr. Robert Whalen to design effective exercise regimens for NASA’s astronauts, Differential Air Pressure (DAP) technology has been adapted by AlterG for use in training and rehabilitation. Cleared by the FDA in 2008, the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill is a medical device that can be used for:

  • Rehabilitation of lower extremity injuries
  • Treatment of neurological conditions
  • Weight reduction
  • Aerobic conditioning
  • General training to combat the diseases of aging

Unweighting is achieved in the AlterG by using air in a pressure-controlled chamber to gently lift the user. Precise calibration using our patented technology allows for very specific unweighting from 100-20% of the users body weight in 1% increments. Something no other unweighting modality can do. Clinical studies show that these treadmills can help decrease ground reaction forces in walking and running. The restoration of normal gait mechanics is paramount to optimal recovery and can be accelerated by our patented unweighting technology. AT Georgia Sports Chiropractic we use the Alter G Anti Gravity Treadmill to allow runners with many lower extremity injuries to continue training for their goal races while they heal. Additionally, many runners and triathletes use the Alter G to get an extra long run or workout in without getting all the normal impact that beats up their legs and body. The Alter G is used by many professional runners and top collegiate teams, and is now available for use by the general public.

The NormaTec MVP (“Most Valuable Pump”) is an FDA-cleared, state-of-the-art Pneumatic Compression Device. Multi-segment inflatable boots or sleeves are placed around the limbs and rhythmically inflated and deflated to carefully prescribed pressures. Stagnant fluid in the affected limb is promptly mobilized via the patented Peristaltic Pulse pneumatic waveform.

Recovering from demanding workouts, injuries and surgery has just gotten a lot easier and a lot less painful. The NormaTec MVP provides pulsating dynamic compression to your legs and/or arms to reduce swelling, muscle fatigue, and stiffness — allowing you to recover faster, train harder, and perform better.

Used by top Pro and College athletes, the NormaTec MVP is easily customizable for the individual athlete with user-friendly controls to allow for both general workout recovery and to focus treatment on specific areas.

The Optojump utilizes the latest in technology to analyze gait and motion. It collects numerical data in real-time for gait, running, and jump tests that can be viewed immediately. The easy to read report displays all data, and asymmetries between the two legs are highlighted instantly. This data can help identify and evaluate any distortions in motion, which will help us properly treat any imbalances you may have. This technology can benefit athletes in sports like running, track and field, soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, baseball among others.
