Dr. Josh H Glass
2012 US Olympic Team Medical Staff: Track and Field
Dr. Josh Glass is a second-generation sports chiropractor specializing in the treatment and prevention of athletic injures, and in the application of peaking and recovery programs for sports performance optimization. Exercise prescription and rehabilitation are also emphasized in his practice. He treats athletes of all levels, from the beginner to the professional and Olympian.
Dr. Glass earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree, Cum Laude, from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, GA in 2001. He is a Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. Dr. Glass earned a Bachelor of Science for the University of Georgia in Sports and Exercise Science in 1996. He was a member of the track and field and cross-country teams at UGA, earning multiple All SEC Academic awards, as well as being a varsity letterman. He is a past 1st Vice President of the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council. He is also the Sports Medicine Representative for the Athlete Advisory Committee for USA Track and Field and the Sports Medicine Committee Chair for USATF Georgia. Dr. Glass currently serves as the chiropractic consultant for Emory University and Georgia State University athletic departments, as well as the Georgia Technological Institute Track and Field Teams. Dr. Glass served as the USA Track and Field World Championships Team Chiropractor in Berlin, Germany in 2009 and in Daegu, South Korea in 2011. In December 2010 and February 2011, Dr. Glass served as a medical volunteer for two weeks at the US Olympic Training Centers in Colorado Springs and Chula Vista, California.See more.
Dr. Glass has served as a medical crew chief for the Atlanta Half Marathon and Marathon and the Peachtree Road Race since 2004. He is member of the Atlanta Track Club Board of Directors, serving a term from 2011 to 2013. He has been an event chiropractor for the USA Track and Field Outdoor National Track and Field Championships and Olympic Trials since 2004, and was the sports chiropractic coordinator for the event in 2010. He also served as the sports chiropractic coordinator for the AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament in Atlanta from 2006 - 2009. From 2002 - 2004, Dr. Glass was the chiropractic consultant for the Atlanta Beat, the WUSA women's professional soccer team. Dr. Glass is the personal chiropractor for many of the USA's top Olympic and World Championships medalist, including Atlanta's Terrence Trammell, Dwight Phillips, Chaunte Lowe and Angelo Taylor. He collaborates care with his wife Collette Glass, who is a leading Atlanta sports massage therapist. He has traveled with athletes, providing care, nationally and internationally, including the Athens and Beijing Olympic Games.
Dr. Glass has been active with running his entire life, competing and coaching in cross-country, track and field, and road racing. He can be found most days running on the Chattahoochee National Forest trails. He also participates in cycling, mountain biking, adventure racing and snow boarding. He lives in Marietta with his wife Collette, son Jarret, and daughter Galina.
Dr. Lauren Cortjens ("Dr. C”)
Dr. Cortjens is a chiropractor and soft tissue specialist whose practice is devoted to the treatment and prevention of athletic injuries. She strives to provide specialized soft tissue treatments, exercise programs, and recovery plans to enhance a patient’s sports and physical performance. She welcomes athletes and individuals of all abilities, ranging from the everyday athlete and weekend warrior to elite professionals and Olympic athletes.
Dr. Cortjens graduated from Life University in 2012, earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She is also certified in full body Active Release Techniques for the treatment of soft tissue related conditions. Dr. Cortjens earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University in 2007. She was a member of Georgia State’s Division I softball team as a center fielder, earning conference all-academic honors all four years. She was also a founding member of the school’s triathlon club and an avid runner on campus.See more.
Dr. Cortjens has treated athletes at many events over the last few years. She has been very active in the triathlon community, through racing and helping athletes recover after races, utilizing her certification in Active Release Techniques. She has also been on the medical team for the Rugby for Heroes tournament here in Atlanta, the US 10K Classic, the Peachtree Road Race, and the Mtn Madness ½ Ironman in Ellijay, in addition to providing chiropractic care for Olympic track athletes, professional tennis players, WNBA players, and elite triathletes.
Dr. Cortjens is a competitive triathlete, competing in all distances from sprint distance to Ironman. She began competing in ultra-marathons in 2011, where she found a passion for the sport. She spends weekends mountain biking, trail running with her dogs at many of the great wilderness areas Atlanta has to offer, supporting friends at local races, in which she may or may not also be competing., and spending time with her family. Dr. Cortjens lives in Cumming with her husband, Rudy, and her son, Hunter.
Dr. Norman Eng
Dr. Norman Eng is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic specializing in the conservative management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, and he is a certified Graston Technique and Active Release Technique provider. Dr. Eng is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He completed an internship at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in West Haven, CT and at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
Dr. Eng was a member of the sports medicine team for the 2012 USA Track and Field Olympic Trials, 2010 and 2011 USA Track and Field National Championships, AVP Pro Beach Volleyball, the New York City Marathon, the ING Georgia Marathon, NYC Triathlon, the Gold Cup Soccer Tournament, and the MORE Marathon.See more
He has been a strength consultant with the University of Connecticut Women's Track and Field program and the University of Bridgeport Men's and Women's Soccer teams.
Dr. Eng received his doctorate from the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the American Chiropractic Association Sports Council.
